Military Training Reenactment – Napoleonic Drills at the Great Šance
On 1–2 August 2026, the Great Šance will become a historical training ground set in the Napoleonic era.
The event will present a day in the life of a French line infantry soldier, featuring authentic demonstrations of drill exercises, tactical maneuvers of skirmishers, and examples of small-scale engagements from the period.
This reenactment serves as a voluntary training exercise for historical military units, who in exchange for access to the fort use the site for practicing period formations and maneuvers.
The activity combines historical authenticity with educational value, highlighting the everyday routines, discipline, and coordination of Napoleonic soldiers within the unique setting of the Great Šance fortifications.
