Gorol ball
The traditional Gorol Ball, held annually in Mosty u Jablunkova, is hosted by the local Górole folklore group. The event, first held in 1978, is a festival featuring folklore and folk music groups – not only local performers but also international ensembles from Poland, Slovakia, France and other countries.
The opening performance at every Gorol Ball is by the Górole group, the hosts of the event. They are followed by a series of folklore groups from the local area and further afield. The final performance features the year’s special guest ensemble. Then comes the ball itself. The Gorol Ball has become a firm fixture on the folklore-lovers’ calendar, not only because of the wonderful performances but also thanks to the superbly reconstructed venue (in the PZKO building) and the excellent local cuisine. The event has a unique atmosphere as all participants dress in traditional folk costumes.
